Ingredients

• beef mince — 500 g
• burger buns — 4
• onion, tomato, lettuce or cabbage — sliced
• cheese slices — 4 (optional)
• mayonnaise and tomato ketchup — 4 tbsp
• black pepper, salt, garlic powder

Method

1. Season the mince and form 4 flat patties with a thumb dimple in the centre.
2. Sear on a very hot pan 3–4 minutes a side; add cheese in the last minute.
3. Toast the split buns on the pan.
4. Mix mayo and ketchup, spread on the buns and assemble.
