Ingredients

• dried bombay duck or shrimp — 100 g
• dried chillies — 6–8
• onions — 2, garlic — 6 cloves
• mustard oil — 3 tbsp
• salt and coriander — to taste

Method

1. Rinse the dried fish well and soak in hot water for 10 minutes.
2. Drain and dry-roast lightly in a pan.
3. Fry the onions, garlic and dried chillies in the oil.
4. Grind everything coarsely on a stone or in a blender and season.
